MBZUAI Unveils Innovative Centres at GITEX 2023

The launch was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, in line with this year's show theme, 'The Year to Imagine AI in Everything,' these centers align with MBZUAI's commitment to pioneering AI research and contributing to national priorities.

In a significant development, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), at this year's GITEX, introduced two pioneering centres - Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre (MIEC) and the Metaverse Centre (MMC) - aimed at advancing AI research and innovation.

The MBZUAI Metaverse Centre, directed by Hao Li, and co-led by Abdulmotaleb El Saddik, focuses on cutting-edge AI-driven immersive technologies. This centre will explore applications in communication, healthcare, entertainment, and education, leveraging fields such as computer vision, generative AI, mixed reality, multimedia, and natural language processing (NLP).

Designed to foster AI innovation and industry adoption, the Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre offers comprehensive entrepreneurship courses, AI engineering support, funding opportunities, and valuable insights from successful tech entrepreneurs. This centre aims to create a thriving AI ecosystem while nurturing future AI entrepreneurs and startups.

The launch was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, in line with this year's theme, 'The Year to Imagine AI in Everything,' these centers align with MBZUAI's commitment to pioneering AI research and contributing to national priorities.

Earlier this year, MBZUAI introduced two new departments and four graduate programs dedicated to robotics and computer science, further strengthening the UAE's position as a global hub for AI research and innovation.
