What’s in It for ICV-Certified Businesses?
For many SMEs in the UAE, navigating the digital landscape and keeping up with evolving technology can be a real challenge. From managing internet costs to finding affordable productivity tools, every bit of support counts. That's why a recent agreement between the MoIAT and e& UAE is worth noting.
The two entities have joined forces to offer a suite of benefits specifically for SMEs that are ICV-certified under MoIAT's National In-Country Value (ICV) Program. This program, part of the UAE’s Projects of the 50, aims to boost the local economy by encouraging companies to contribute more to the national industrial sector.
So, what does this mean for the over 7,000 ICV-certified SMEs registered with MoIAT? Essentially, e& UAE will be providing some exclusive deals. Think preferential rates on internet services, mobile plans, digital payment solutions, and even Microsoft productivity tools. The idea behind this is straightforward: to help these local businesses speed up their digital transformation and run things more efficiently.
This collaboration isn't just about discounts, though. It reflects a shared goal between MoIAT and e& UAE to support local industry, build up the economy, and encourage technological growth within the country.
Her Excellency Salama Al Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Development Sector at MoIAT, highlighted that the National ICV Program is a key part of the broader national strategy for industry and advanced technology. She noted that the program has already made a significant impact, with cumulative local expenditure through it reaching AED 347 billion by the end of 2024. SMEs are clearly a big part of this success story, and the program now has 35 strategic partners.
Esam Mahmoud, Senior Vice President SMB Sales & Marketing at e& UAE, emphasised their role in empowering SMEs. He mentioned that this partnership is about providing businesses with the digital tools they need to grow, become more competitive, and achieve long-term success. It's also seen as a way to encourage more companies to get ICV-certified.
Ultimately, this agreement is another step in e& UAE's ongoing efforts to act as a digital enabler for businesses across various sectors, aligning with national priorities through strategic partnerships and forward-looking solutions. It's about creating an environment where local businesses can thrive with the right support and tools.
