London-based Beautystack raises £4M seed funding

It will help beauty professionals become financially independent.

Wellness and beauty is an enormous market, which makes it extremely attractive for budding entrepreneurs and investors alike. However, the market has been flooded with millions of blogs, vlogs, videos, and other content about the subject.

Overall, it is incredibly difficult to find the right items that you like, and purchase them directly through an app. This is the exact challenge that Beautystack, a London-based startup, is solving, as it’s creating a beauty professional booking app with a heavy focus on social.

Recently, the startup announced that it has raised £4 million in seed funding led by Index Ventures, according to TechCrunch.

Girls see millions of images of beauty treatments on social media and have no idea about who did it, how much it costs or what it even is. We want to close the loop on the journey of seeing what you want, liking it and booking it. With Beautystack we use visual menus so you can search and book what you like.

Founded by former salon owner and brand consultant Sharmadean Reid in 2017, it was later joined by co-founders Dan Woodbury, Chris Whittleston, and Ken Lalobo.

Beautystack consists of two parts: one is the booking platform for independent beauty professionals, and the other is its social media app. By combining these two parts, the startup aims to “close the loop” between seeing beauty treatment results and actually being able to book them – all in one simple app.
