Last mile delivery startup Fodel raises $2.6m pre-series A round

It has the potential to revolutionise e-commerce deliveries.

FODEL, a last mile delivery tech startup, has the potential to revolutionise e-commerce deliveries and customer experience. And recently raised $2.6 million in their pre-series A round, with which they plan to expand their operations.

Launched in the UAE, they provide a better solution to customers who face delivery issues when they buy online—giving them the option to collect the parcel anytime they want from a location that is convenient to them. It has over 1000 pick-up locations across all emirates in the UAE, including grocery, laundry and pharmacy stores, as well as gas stations, and is quickly expanding its network.

Soumia Benturquia, Founder & CEO of FODEL, explains: “Delivery is the most stressful part of the online shopping experience. Customers have to change their schedule to be home to wait for the parcel, they usually get multiple calls from the drivers asking for directions, and in the worst cases, they miss their delivery and it gets postponed to another day."

They also present a solution to e-commerce businesses. They are achieving a higher same-day delivery ratio, as the delivery men do not spend as much time with the customers, hence can deliver more packages, faster. Additionally, their model reduces ‘return to origin’ deliveries which currently account for 18 percent of all deliveries in the UAE.

Soumia Benturquia adds, “All parcels are tracked in real-time, and customers have full visibility and control over their shipments,” which gives a better purchase experience. Read more about them here.
