Is Ras Al Khaimah Becoming a Manufacturing Powerhouse?
Hey, did you hear about the recent inauguration of the new manufacturing facility by Sobha Modular Industries in Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah? His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, was there to inaugurate it.
Sobha Modular Industries is a subsidiary of the Sobha Group, and they’ve set up this impressive 250,000 square meter facility. They manufacture aluminium facades and bathroom pods using advanced AI-based CNC machines and robotics. Right now, they can produce 50 bathroom pods a day, but they plan to double that by the end of the year. Additionally, they produce 1,800 square meters of aluminium products daily, and there are major upgrades in the pipeline. The facility is expected to create over 3,000 jobs, which is great news for local employment.
PNC Menon, the Founder and Chairman of Sobha Group, expressed his excitement about this new venture. He mentioned that this facility will revolutionise the regional manufacturing sector in the UAE and emphasised the company's commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. Ravi Menon, the Co-Chairman, also highlighted the positive impact this facility will have on the regional manufacturing landscape and expressed gratitude to Sheikh Saud for his support.
Ramy Jallad, the CEO of RAKEZ Group, shared his excitement as well. He pointed out that this new facility aligns with Ras Al Khaimah's strategic vision to attract global enterprises and boost the industrial sector, which already makes up a third of the emirate's GDP. He praised Sobha's state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities and their commitment to sustainability.
Francis Alfred, the Managing Director of Sobha Realty, thanked Sheikh Saud for his support and emphasised how this new facility will push the boundaries of innovation and excellence in construction. He also acknowledged the vital partnership with RAKEZ, which has been instrumental in this venture.
