Could Google “brain implants” take over human intelligence?

Power of AI vs. human intelligence

This is the stuff crazy futuristic movies are made of, where tech takes over humans. Imagine brain chip implants that remove the need for learning and schooling. Whereby all the answers you need will instantly just come to you.

Would you trust the tech? Won’t it destroy our ability to think independently and creatively? Moreover, won’t it be a massive invasion of privacy whereby all your unsaid thoughts could be logged and stored on giant data machines? It would be the end of humanity as we know it today.

Top artificial intelligence (AI) expert and founder and CEO of Fountech.ai Nikolas Kairinos, spoke to Daily Star in an interview, where he said that “within 20 years we could have implants put into our heads that will allow us to learn everything.”

This tech is already being built. Elon Musk’s Neuralink is a project whereby we could download from computers directly into our brain.

100 years ago, the thought of an electric device within our body was unthinkable. Today we have pacemakers. Do you think we could warm up to AI chips in our brains in the next few decades? According to Kairinos, this is very likely to be our future reality.

Not to sound pessimistic, but Kairinos believes all of these changes will serve humanity. “AI that will improve people’s lives on a mass scale, globally,” he explained. We think we are still too far from that reality. And if we have learned anything from sci-fi movies, it is to not allow tech to dominate humans. Because the power of AI is far greater than what human minds are capable of. Read more from Kairinos interview here.
