Founder’s insights from Bernard Lee of GlassQube Coworking

His journey from New York to Abu Dhabi.

With the recent launch of its newest co-working and entrepreneurship space, Hub71, Abu Dhabi has underlined its vision to attract world-class entrepreneurs and investors alike to the capital.

However, there were other entities that set up co-working spaces before Hub71, which are facing a double-edged sword with the new launch. One of them is Bernard Lee, a former New York investment banker, who founded co-working space GlassQube in 2016 with his colleague Fahad Al Ahbabi.

While initially not aiming to start their own co-working space, the duo stumbled upon the opportunity by trying to find an office for their new venture – a new real estate fund. They struggled to find a suitable location, and that is what led to the establishment of Abu Dhabi’s first co-working space, GlassQube; to offer affordable office spaces for those that needed it.

Recently, Lee spoke to Wamda about his journey from New York to Abu Dhabi, and his experience with setting up a co-working space in the capital. Read more about his journey here.
