The UAE Health Council endorsed plans for a national epidemic prevention centre and discussed advancements in the Health Cloud project, aiming for integrated, innovative healthcare services.

On March 21, the UAE Health Council convened to discuss important strategies aimed at securing the nation's healthcare sector. Led by HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, the council brought together key stakeholders from government health entities and the private sector to deliberate on crucial initiatives.

Among the focal points of the meeting was the endorsement of decisions geared towards enhancing collaboration between federal and local health authorities, as well as partners. High-ranking officials such as HE Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and HE Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, were present alongside representatives from various government health authorities and the private healthcare sector.

A central agenda item centred on the establishment of a national centre for epidemic prevention, demonstrating the UAE's approach to safeguarding public health. Additionally, discussions revolved around the latest developments concerning the Health Cloud project, an initiative supporting cloud computing technology to change healthcare data management.

The Health Cloud project, lauded for its capabilities, promises to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services by facilitating secure storage, sharing, and access to health information. Its implementation is made to boost advancements in health research, improve communication between healthcare providers and patients, and empower data-led decision-making processes.

During the meeting, the council stated the importance of these initiatives in advancing the UAE's national health objectives, promoting societal well-being, and ensuring the sustainability of healthcare services. Emphasising a commitment to excellence, the council reiterated to realising the UAE's vision for a state-of-the-art healthcare system, aligned with futuristic healthcare paradigms and the nation's goals for the next fifty years.

The UAE Health Council, entrusted with coordinating efforts across federal, local, and private healthcare entities, serves as a linchpin for boosting synergy and integration within the healthcare area. In addition to addressing shared challenges and formulating recommendations for legislative frameworks, the council partnerships as cornerstones for sustainable healthcare development in the UAE.
