Nakheel Malls partner with DP World to take Dragonmart online

Online site offers 35,000 B2B and B2C product lines in 11 categories with logistics and on-site fulfilment centre operated by DP World to deliver within 48 hours

Nakheel Malls and DP World partner to take Dragon Mart, the largest B2B and B2C wholesale marketplace in Dubai online. The new ecommerce site,, will offer over 35,000 + SKUs from 500 retailers (out of a potential 3500) and includes a wide range of its products, offering variety, scale, cost and volume to businesses owners of small to medium enterprises. More than 30 per cent of items purchased at Dragon Mart are directly linked to business across the UAE, such as restaurants, who now have the capability to order their most needed supplies, such as coffee filters, utensils and more online, improving the overall ease of doing business in the UAE.

While the team at Nakheel were unable to comment on how much it is charging its retailers at Dragon Mart to get on board the new ecommerce platform, in a statement to SME10X, Omar Khoory, Managing Director for Nakheel Malls, clarified that the onboarding process was crucial for the company. “As one of the largest malls in Dubai with around 3500 retailers, the onboarding of our tenants is key to a strong platform delivery and mirroring the great selection of products that you see in the physical Dragon Mart and translating this to an online platform. We have launched with 400 retailers and, since launch, this has increased to 500 retailers which is 15 percent of our total tenant mix. This delivers over +35,000 SKUs to The launch has meant that onboarding is now our core focus as the more we onboard the better the benefit to both our tenants and our customers.”

Bringing wholesale bargains to the businesses across a range of competitive price points, delivers a contactless experience to people at their doorsteps within 48 hours. The speedy delivery timings are in part due to the fact that Dragon Mart already utilises the DP World ports, coupled with its logistics management through an onsite fulfilment centre at Dragon Mart in order to streamline the logistics and delivery across the UAE.

In addition to offering its retailers the option to go on the ecommerce site, Khoory added that the team have implemented several measures to help them cope with the challenges of the pandemic. Nakheel Malls took immediate actions in response to Covid-19, from implementing disinfection and sterilization across all its Nakheel Malls destinations and assets, to quickly aligning with the economic stimulus and launching a AED230 million economic relief package that included free rental periods for retail and hospitality partners who operate within the Nakheel Malls portfolio that include Dragon Mart. This took effect when the malls, which were closed under government directives, reopened.
