Is This the Future of SME Banking in the UAE?
For many SMEs in the UAE, opening and managing a business bank account can still be a slow and complicated process. A new partnership between Yuze and Zand Bank is trying to change that by focusing on simplicity, speed, and digital-first banking.
Yuze, a UAE-based AI-enabled digital business banking platform, has teamed up with Zand, the country’s AI and blockchain-powered digital bank, to offer digital business accounts to eligible SMEs, startups, and entrepreneurs. The collaboration is aimed at businesses of all sizes that are looking for easier access to essential banking services without the usual paperwork and long onboarding timelines.
Through Yuze’s platform, eligible businesses can apply for a digital business account with fast onboarding, receive an IBAN, and access a range of digital banking products. Beyond basic banking, the platform also provides business tools designed to help companies manage their finances more efficiently and support growth as they scale.
The partnership also addresses a long-standing challenge in the SME ecosystem—limited access to suitable banking options for underserved or early-stage businesses. By combining Zand’s regulated banking infrastructure with Yuze’s technology-driven interface, the two companies aim to offer a more practical alternative to traditional business banking.
Michael Chan, CEO of Zand, highlighted the importance of SMEs in the broader economy, noting that the sector continues to be a key driver of growth in the UAE. He said the collaboration is focused on meeting the real banking needs of SMEs and startups through digital, client-focused solutions.
Rabih Sfeir, CEO of Yuze, echoed this approach, emphasising the role of intelligent banking in helping businesses operate and grow more effectively. According to him, the partnership is about delivering customer-centric and next-generation banking services that align with how modern businesses work today.
For SMEs and entrepreneurs navigating the UAE’s fast-changing business environment, the collaboration represents another step toward more accessible and practical digital banking options.
