IKEA launches its accelerator programme in Saudi Arabia

IKEA Forward to boost startup growth in the Kingdom

IKEA is the latest corporate giant to introduce its accelerator programme. It announced the launch of IKEA Forward accelerator programme during the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) held in Bahrain.

The accelerator will be based in Saudi Arabia, to help entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses, with potential investment from or partnership with IKEA.

Saud Alsulaiman, chief executive officer of IKEA Saudi and Bahrain, said: “At our company we believe that we have a responsibility towards sharing knowledge and adding value to all the communities we operate in, which has led us to launch IKEA Forward as a new platform to grow our community through entrepreneurship.”

He added, “Startups will be shortlisted based on their business model that addresses one of four challenges; disruptive technology, improving customer experience, food innovation and sustainability."
