FinTech Abu Dhabi begins digital tour of 23 countries to search for early-stage startups

FinTech Abu Dhabi is one of MENA's leading FinTech Festival and will take place between 24-26 November 2020

Between June and November 2020, the FinTech Abu Dhabi Innovation and startups team will digitally visit 23 countries across the globe to scout for, and hear from, the founders of the world's most exciting early stage FinTech startups. The very best of these startups will be invited to join the prestigious FinTech100 programme, within the FinTech Abu Dhabi Festival 2020. Co-hosted by Abu Dhabi Global Market and the Central Bank of the UAE, powered by Unbound, FinTech Abu Dhabi is one of MENA's leading FinTech Festival and will take place between 24-26 November 2020.

The global search tour kicked off in UAE on 30th June. Over one hour, the webinar kicked off with advice from Lucy Liu, Co-Founder & President, Airwallex, Richard Teng, CEO, Financial Regulatory Services Authority, Abu Dhabi Global Market and Shu Pui Li, Advisor to H.E, the Governor of Central Bank of The UAE, (CBUAE) who discussed 'FinTech - in the next decade'. This was followed by the first pitching battle took place among five FinTech startups. Mamo Pay and McLedger were crowned champions from this leg and will head to FinTech Abu Dhabi as part of FinTech100 this November.

The FinTech100 is a gateway to one of the world's most important markets and a portal to a wealth of opportunity. This high level, invite only gathering will see startup founders brought to Abu Dhabi to network with peers, be introduced to key corporate and investor players in the Middle East, learn about key market opportunities, participate in the corporate Innovation Challenge and Awards and to experience, first hand, the famous Abu Dhabi hospitality.

The next destinations for July and August in the FinTech Abu Dhabi Global Tour, The Search include Australia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, USA, India and Singapore.
