Dubai SME now supporting 2x more SMEs

Latest figures from H1 2019 show 2055 SMEs receiving support

According to the latest figures, nearly twice as many SMEs are receiving assistance from Dubai SME, an agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, has nearly doubled compared to last year.

Figures from H1 2019 show 2055 SMEs receiving support, which marks an 83 percent increase from the 1124 in H1 2018.

The incentives and exemptions provided by Dubai SME also exceeded $10 million during the same time, up by 86 percent compared to $5.9 million in H1 2018.

Approximately 680 of the 2055 were also launched through Dubai SME this year, which marks a 26 percent increase from the 540 companies established in the first half of 2018.

In addition, Dubai SME has also provided marketing services worth more than $2 million in value in the first half of this year.
