Bridging the Skills Gap in UAE’s SME Finance Sector

Free workshops train 1,000 professionals in corporate tax compliance, technology adoption, and career growth, bridging skills gaps and strengthening the UAE’s evolving SME ecosystem.

The financial landscape for SMEs in the UAE is changing fast. With new regulations like Corporate Tax and the rapid adoption of technology, there's a growing need for professionals who can navigate these shifts. Recognising this, Tally Solutions, a business management software provider, has launched a new initiative to help.

Called FinTAXtic1000, the program is a series of free workshops designed to train 1,000 finance professionals across the UAE. Tally Solutions partnered with Al Wafaa Group and FintEdu to create a curriculum focused on practical skills. The goal is to give Chartered Accountants, other finance professionals, and job seekers the tools they need to succeed in this new environment.

What the Workshops Cover

The workshops focus on three key areas:

  • UAE Corporate Tax Compliance: Experts provide actionable insights on how to handle the new tax regulations.

  • Technology Adoption: Participants get hands-on training with TallyPrime to see how automation can simplify compliance tasks. The sessions also cover how emerging technologies, like AI, can be used for career growth.

  • Career Advancement: The program also includes sessions on employability and digital readiness, helping attendees prepare for the modern job market.

The inaugural workshop saw 120 people attend in person, with over 7,000 more tuning in online. This strong turnout highlights a clear demand for accessible, targeted training in the finance sector.

Why This Matters for SMEs

Vikas Panchal, General Manager of MENA at Tally Solutions, explained that the initiative is their way of contributing to the UAE government's mission to educate professionals on taxation and compliance. He noted that as the SME sector evolves, professionals need the skills and confidence to keep up.

The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the real-world skills businesses need today. By offering these free, high-impact sessions, FinTAXtic1000 not only helps individuals advance their careers but also strengthens the broader SME ecosystem in the region.

Tally and its partners plan to continue the program with more physical and online sessions to reach their goal of training over 1,000 professionals. Interested individuals can follow Tally UAE’s social media channels for updates on future workshops.
