11 startups join Plug and Play ADGM's fall 2019 cohort

The cohort will begin on 16 September.

Plug and Play ADGM today announced the 11 startups participating in their third FinTech and first Travel & Hospitality accelerator programmes.

The three month accelerator programme will begin on September 16th, 2019 in partnership with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), BNP Paribas, Boubyan Bank, Etihad Airways, Finablr Group, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Miral and Riyad Bank. These are the corporate partners who are part of Plug and Play's global ecosystem, amongst more than 100 financial institutions, airlines and hotels across the world’s leading countries.

The 11 startups selected for the fall 2019 cohort will have the opportunity to work alongside these corporate partners of Plug and Play ADGM. The opportunity will give them a chance to execute proof of concept or pilot projects.

The 11 startups selected for Plug and Play ADGM’s fall 2019 cohort are:

1. DAPI

DAPI is a FinTech startup offering a software that packages financial data of its users and the ability to authorise bank transactions into one single API that connects FinTech apps to banks all over the region.

DAPI is part of ADGM RegLabs' fourth cohort as well as Plug and Play ADGM's third cohort. Ahmed Agour, co-founder of DAPI clarified to SME 10X in an email that they are indeed part of both. He wrote that they are part of RegLab as their work requires regulation, and being part of the accelerator will allow them to tap into the "network of plug and play and their partners to introduce our product to solve their problems."

2. AR4

AR4 is a leader in augmented reality based in Austria and Silicon Valley. They develop B2B solutions for remote maintenance works of infrastructure, training, documentation and live instructions in indoor and outdoor scenarios with head-worn AR devices.

Founded by Clemens Arth in 2015, AR4 claims to have more than 30 patents.

3. Bankify

Founded in 2016 by Founders Antti Tarakkamäki and Tero Lappalainen, Finland-based Bankify offers a set of microservices tailored to millennials, which makes personal finance management easier and more enjoyable as a social activity. The service is essentially designed to provide an improved user experience of digital and mobile banking solutions of Bankify’s partners.

4. CyberTalents

After running ‘Capture the Flag’ competitions for a few years, which are a type of ethical cybersecurity competition, the team realised a gap in the market for skilled cyber-security talent.

That’s when they decided to launch CyberTalents — a platform that scores and ranks security professionals based on their technical skills through the ‘Capture the Flag’ cybersecurity competition, and helps them get employed in the right sectors.

The platform connects governments and corporates, to students and skilled professionals to bridge the gap between the sectors.

5. E-bot7

Also founded in 2016 by Fabian Beringer, Maximilian Gerer and Xaver Lehmann in Germnay, E-bot7 is a tech solution that increases the efficiency of customer service operations. It does so by integrating Artificial Intelligence into existing or custom CRM systems, which helps companies quickly classify support queries, forward them to the right agents, as well as suggest the best answers to each question.

6. Mostly AI

Mostly AI has developed a game-changing new technology that offers a Synthetic Data Engine that can be used to unlock data assets that otherwise have to be locked away for privacy reasons. The engine learns the patterns in the original data to create new synthetic datasets, and can thus be used or shared for any purpose without privacy issues.

It was founded in Austria in 2017 by Klaudius Kalcher, Michael Platzer, Roland Boubela.

7. Road.Travel

Road.Travel is a trip planning and dynamic packaging platform (white-label) for airlines, hotels, rental cars, travel agencies, tour operators, automotive & MaaS companies. It helps people plan their journeys in the exact way they want to travel, such as if they want to take a road trip across the US. It packages hotels, cars, and other travel itineraries needed for the trip. It also creates and personalizes complex trips in minutes and adapts trips to user's budget on the fly.

8. Steerpath

Another Finland-based startup, Steerpath is a universal indoor positioning platform for all venue types. Founded in 2013 by Mikko Virkkilä and Tuomas Ilola, it provides an indoor positioning and navigation technology all in a single platform via a mobile application. This is useful for asset tracking, way-finding, staff tracking, and calibration free installation which are facilitated by wireless infrastructure.

9. Toucan Toco

Toucan Toco is a data storytelling platform focused on communicating data to management and aligning teams from top decision makers to operational teams. The company provides a consistent UX, great mobility, and a fully collaborative environment, all centered around the needs of business users.

10. Ushur

The five-year old US-based startup founded by Henry Peter and Simha Sadasiva, Ushur is a service engagement platform that digitally transforms enterprise workflows by automating back-end processes and customer conversations.

11. Verrency

Verrency is a white-label SaaS that is both an API platform and marketplace, operating live in real-time in the payments authorization flow, enabling issuers to deliver both native and fintech services to their customers.
